We speak with Monika Pańko, CEO & Founder, about the company’s beginnings, values, distinguishing features, and plans for the future.
How did your story begin? What inspired the founding of the company?
ABATEC was founded in 2001 out of a passion for wood and a desire to create products that blend harmoniously with the natural environment. From the very beginning, our mission was to combine functionality, aesthetics, and respect for nature. Over time, our small workshop has evolved into one of the largest wooden pool manufacturers in Europe. Our headquarters and modern production facility are based in Poland, and our pools are delivered to customers around the world. What has set us apart from the start is authenticity and consistency – from concept, through design, to execution.
How does ABATEC stand out from the competition – both in Poland and abroad?
Our key advantage lies in combining craftsmanship and passion for wood with modern technology and strong ethical values. We use only certified wood from responsibly managed sources, and our entire production process follows the principles of sustainable development. We create proprietary technological solutions, pay attention to every detail, and remain honest with our customers, employees, and partners. A state-of-the-art machine park, experienced team, and precision manufacturing are the cornerstones of the superior quality of our products and service.
What values form the foundation of your daily operations?
We are guided by responsibility, sustainability, innovation, and integrity. We take responsibility for quality, people, and the environment, ensuring that our actions have the smallest possible impact on the planet. We continuously invest in new technologies that enhance the efficiency and durability of our products. Our relationships – both internal and external – are built on honesty and trust, because we believe these are the true foundations of quality.
Sustainable development – what does it mean to you, and how does it influence daily production?
Sustainability is not a slogan for us – it is an integral part of our strategy. We use FSC-certified wood, implement energy-efficient processes, minimize waste, and constantly optimize logistics to reduce our carbon footprint. At the same time, we invest in good working conditions and support local communities. Our goal is for every decision – from design to delivery – to be conscious and responsible.
Should the pool industry become more eco-friendly? What actions make that possible?
Absolutely. For years, the pool industry was seen as energy-intensive and dependent on plastics. Today, we know it can be different – and ABATEC is proof of that. Our wooden pools are not only beautiful, natural structures but also more environmentally friendly solutions. Biodegradability, energy efficiency, and customer education on ecological awareness are key elements that can truly transform the industry. The future belongs to manufacturers who act responsibly and offer conscious choices.
How does ABATEC define quality?
For us, quality is more than just product parameters. It’s a holistic approach that covers the entire life cycle of a pool – from material selection and precise manufacturing to customer service and after-sales support. We focus on durability, safety, aesthetics, and compliance with the highest standards. Every pool undergoes rigorous quality control. For us, quality also means relationships – honest communication, transparency, and full engagement from our entire team. The best measure of our quality is customer satisfaction.
What are your development plans for the coming years?
We plan to continue our dynamic growth. Our goal is to expand exports and strengthen our presence in key European markets. We are developing new product lines and additional services, as well as enhancing our digital sales channels. We are also expanding our educational section, where we share knowledge on ecology, pool maintenance, and garden design. We believe that growth goes hand in hand with responsibility – and that’s exactly the path we are pursuing.
